Essential Information

Accommodation

Our Everest ViewTrek package includes accommodation as well. Our primary concern when choosing accommodations is the trekkers' safety and comfort. Teahouses are common places to stay throughout the trek. The majority of these teahouses are on a twin-sharing basis, and our guides will assign accommodation based on gender. If you are a couple or prefer individual rooms within a group, inform us before the trek, and we will make the necessary arrangements to accommodate your needs.

Everest View Trek offers a mix of accommodations, ranging from a 3-star hotel or similar in Kathmandu to teahouses along the trekking route. In Kathmandu, you can expect comfortable lodging with modern amenities, providing a pleasant stay before and after your trek.

During the trek, teahouses become the primary accommodation option in the remote mountain villages. These teahouses are basic but cozy, offering a chance to experience the local hospitality. The rooms typically have twin beds with basic bedding, and some teahouses may offer additional blankets for warmth. Keep in mind that the facilities become more basic as you ascend to higher altitudes.

Regarding bathrooms in teahouses, they usually feature shared facilities. The bathrooms are functional and equipped with basic amenities such as squat toilets and cold running water. Hot showers may be available, but they often come at an extra cost and may be dependent on solar or gas heating, making them less predictable at higher altitudes.

In the case of accommodation upgrade

Private Room

If you want a private room during your trek, inform us before the trek so we can arrange accordingly. But sometimes, because of limited space, it might not be possible to get a private room, especially if you want to stay above Lobuche. But we will make sure you have a good place in town to stay throughout the Everest View Trek. (Extra cost applied.)

Upgrade Hotel

To upgrade your hotel in Kathmandu or lodges in Everest, contact us or mention while booking the trek to use our Addons to upgrade your room. (Extra cost applied.)

Food

During the Everest View Trek, you eat a mix of local and trekking-friendly food. In Kathmandu, the 3-star hotel serves a good breakfast with both Western and Nepali dishes. As you trek, teahouses become your main places to eat, offering meals like dal bhat, momos, noodles, and yak-based dishes. The menu might get simpler as you go higher, but the teahouse hosts are friendly, and the meals are warm. Don't forget to enjoy some hot tea or Sherpa butter tea for a cozy feeling. The food on the Everest View Trek is a tasty combination of local flavors, making every meal a special part of your mountain adventure.

Best Season

The best time to do the Everest View Trek is during the pre- and post-monsoon seasons, which fall roughly between March to May and September to November. These months offer the most favorable weather conditions for trekking in the Everest region. During spring, the trails are adorned with vibrant rhododendron blooms, creating a picturesque landscape. The skies are usually clear, providing stunning views of the Himalayan peaks. In the fall, the weather remains stable, with crisp mornings and clear days offering excellent visibility. These seasons strike a balance between moderate temperatures and a lower chance of precipitation, ensuring a more enjoyable and safer trekking experience.

Difficulty

Everest View Trek presents a moderate level of difficulty, offering a challenging yet rewarding experience for trekkers. The journey involves trekking through varying terrains, from gentle slopes to steeper ascents, allowing adventurers to immerse themselves in the breathtaking landscapes of the Everest region. While not as strenuous as some of the more extended treks in the area, it still demands a reasonable level of fitness and acclimatization due to the increasing altitude. The trail takes you through charming villages, lush forests, and iconic suspension bridges, providing a taste of the local culture and natural beauty.

Travel Insurance

Having travel insurance is like having a trusted companion along the journey. This insurance is your safety net, ensuring that you're covered for unforeseen circumstances that might arise during the adventure. From unexpected medical issues to flight delays or cancellations, travel insurance provides you with peace of mind, allowing you to focus on the breathtaking landscapes and cultural experiences rather than worrying about what-ifs. Whether it's a sudden change in plans or a minor mishap, having travel insurance for the Everest View Trek is your way of saying, "I'm ready for anything, and I've got the support I need for a worry-free adventure in the Himalayas."

Permits

Two permits are required for the Everest View Trek: the Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit and the Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Entry Permit. Your trekking agency will typically arrange for these permits, but you must carry them with you on your trek. Also, a TIMS card is required and all the permits will be arranged by the company.

Customer Reviews

  • What a trek to Everest View

The Everest View Trek with Everest Base Camp Travel was a wonderful gastronomic discovery for someone who loves cuisine as much as adventure. Throughout the trip, the agency made arrangements for us to sample a variety of typical Nepalese meals, including melt-in-your-mouth momos and yak cheese delicacies, as well as hot bowls of thukpa and nourishing dal bhat. The Sherpa family that owns the teahouses utilizes only the freshest, locally sourced foods to provide a delectable surprise for every meal. I will be using the expertise I learned to create dal bhat when I return home!
